Info Post

I hope you have enjoyed this Fab Hair Friday series.  If you missed the first two, click here and here.  This last one is my favorite of the three and it's such a fun one.  Your arms may get a little tired, but I promise this look is worth it.  It's how I'm going to style my hair for my Christmas Party tomorrow.  Have fun!

Coiled Mohawk: Estimated Time: 15 minutes; Hair Length: Short to Long

Tools:

3-4 Hair grips
Handful of bobby pins
Teasing comb
Hairspray

Preparation:

Begin by sectioning out your fringe or just the very front part of your hair and clip that away for now.

Lightly tease your crown area.

Depending on the length of your hair, you're going to separate your hair into 3 or 4 equal sized ponytails.  As you make the ponytails, try to blend the sides well so you can't tell that your hair is broken up into different sections.

To begin the coils, start at the top and split your first ponytail into 2-3 sections (depending on the thickness of your hair).

Twist each section into a sort of Figure 8 pattern and bobby pin the loops.  Make sure the ends of your hair are tucked in and that you try to keep the loops as close to the center as possible to make the "mohawk".

Continue in this way for each subsequent ponytail.  Check your progress in a mirror and make sure you aren't leaving gaps down the hawk.

Now, take the clipped section in front and tease that to create a bump in the front.

Pin the bump down and hide the ends.

Check to make sure everything looks great and then hairspray.

You did it!  Wasn't that a cool updo?  Don't forget to tweet me a photo if you tried this (@TheLoveHanger)!  Have a great weekend! <3
