For those that thrift...do you ever fall so completely in love with a haul of clothes you came away with, that you just want to tell everyone that your item cost only $2?? That's how I felt all day today with this vest. I absolutely love silk fabric. It's smooth, it's soft, it's natural, and it's extremely durable. Every silk vintage item I've ever found in a thrift store is in impeccable condition. Unless of course, it was stained. The fibers of silk are one of the strongest around, and I like knowing that I only spent a few measly dollars on a fantastic item.
This vest is right on trend with the bright floral colors of spring and summer, and although I don't have a vast array of vests, I just couldn't pass this one up. I always feel like vests highlight the boob area, and because I don't need to highlight mine anymore than they already are, I tend to shy away from them. But I felt that with the lower arm holes of this one, and the cinched back, it lent itself to enhance my figure, instead of abolish it.
What do you think? Do you look for luxurious fabrics in thrifted clothes?
