Info Post
I don't know about you, but I honestly do not have a cosmetic bag big enough to fit all of my make up, hair tools, and products in when I travel.  Yeah, I could just buy a bigger bag, but at the end of the day, are you really going to need/use all the stuff you brought?  Probably not!  You're going to want to enjoy your vacation!

So here is my list of Top 5 travel essentials to pull off gorgeous, on-trend summer hair!

1.  Dry Shampoo

I've raved about dry shampoo in my past posts, so if you haven't gotten yourself some yet, DO IT!  Summer brings on humidity and sweat, and those things can cause your scalp to become oily, and then your hair.

  • Use your dry shampoo to soak up excess oil.
  • Use it for a mini root lift (volume).
  • Freshen up roots to pull hair back into a bun or a cute side braid.

2.  Wide Toothed Comb

I know there are many who are attached to using their brushes.  But on hair that is frequently wet or damp, combs are much gentler.

  • Use the comb to distribute product through hair.
  • Gently detangle hair that's been attacked by salt water or chlorine.
  • Use in the shower after conditioning to detangle ravaged hair.

3.  Surf Spray

There are lots of surf sprays out there, but when looking for one, find one that has UV protection, or added conditioners to protect the hair from damage.

  • Apply the surf spray to freshly washed damp hair, scrunch from ends to scalp, and let air dry.
  • If your hair is stick straight, follow the above step, but then loosely braid hair to let dry and then unravel for soft waves.
  • Use surf spray after being in the ocean or pool to get "beachy waves" if there is no time to wash your hair.

4.  Clear elastics/bobby pins
Pretty self explanatory.

  • Use the clear elastics to add small "boho" braids to your beachy wave style.
  • Use the bobby pins to help pin away any stray hairs when doing side braids, low buns, or to even pin back fringe that goes wonky.

5.  Mousse

The new go-to product for summer hair, mousse when used correctly, will give your hair body, shine, and protection from humidity.

  • Apply a golf ball sized amount to short hair, and a baseball sized amount to long hair.  Use on damp hair and scrunch from ends to roots.  Let air dry, and then rake your fingers through your hair to break up the stiffness.
  • Use mousse to create the popular and sleek "wet look" while lounging at the pool.
  • Use mousse as a styling cream to create updos like a flirty 60's ponytail, or a prim sock bun.

There you go friends!  The top 5 travel essentials for creating fabulous vacation hair.  Now stop worrying about the hair and worry more about what cute suit to bring.... :D
