Info Post
I'm so sorry for the lack of outfit posts this week.  I went home to visit my mom and she doesn't have internet, so I don't even bother taking photos of looks because I'll have no way to upload them.  So I thought I would do a post on my latest beauty haul!

Salma Hayek Nuance Oxygen Activated Foaming Face Wash

I got a weekly ad in my mailbox for CVS announcing a buy 1 get one 50% off on Salma Hayek's Nuance line.  I've been wanting to try some of the products, so I bought this, and an acne spot treatment that I didn't photograph.

Pros:

  • The oxygenating formula feels amazing on the face.
  • Skin is very clean with only a little bit of eye make up residue left behind.
  • A little goes a long way so the product will last.
Cons:
  • I have oily skin and so I usually welcome good cleansers, but this definitely leaves me in the need for a moisturizer afterward.  I'd be wary using this in the winter when my skin is already dry.
  • Cleanser residue gets left on the bottle and kind of has an "after foam" effect that gets the cap dirty.
Price: $12.99 ($6.49 with buy 1 get one 50% off)

Garnier Moisture Rescue Gel Cream

I am always on the hunt for a good moisturizer.  I usually have oily skin, but sometimes depending on my regimen, I can have combination skin.  I've never really found a moisturizer I loved until now.

Pros:
  • The gel feels so refreshing on the face.
  • Very pleasant cucumber smell.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Leaves absolutely no residue on the face.  Completely absorbs into the skin and skin feels satiny smooth.
Cons:
  • None!  I love this moisturizer!
Price: $8.49 at CVS.  I've heard Walmart and Target are a tad cheaper.

H. Wood Organic Lip Scrub (Pom-Rose Flavor)

Being sponsored by SkincareRX allowed me to use a gift card to redeem for products from their sites.  I chose a Sulfur skin mask (not photographed) and this lip scrub.  I've never used a lip scrub, but have been wanting to try one.  This is so good!

Pros:
  • All organic, so it's edible.  You can lick it off your lips!
  • The smell is fantastic.  It's a light sent of rose.
  • The granules of sugar are between fine and large, so they are not abrasive to the soft lip tissue.
  • A little goes a long way.
  • Essential oils fused into the granules also acts like a balm and keeps lips moisturized.

Cons:
  • A little pricey for a small container.
Price: $10 (on sale from $12, but got free through sponsorship)

Revlon Photoready Foundation in Cool Beige

My foundations were almost gone, so I spent a few days reading reviews on blogs and watching review videos on youtube about different foundations.  I heard excellent things about Revlon Photoready, so I gave it a try.

Pros:
  • Many colors to choose from, so you can probably get a good match.  I got my perfect match on the first try. :)
  • Subtle light particles in the foundation gives a dewy finish.  I was hesitant about this having oily skin, but your face feels matte.  It's almost like having a natural highlight on the face.
  • A little goes a long way and buffing it into the skin gives an almost "poreless" finish.
  • Last for hours.  My skin looks as good 10 hours later as it did when I first put the make up on.  Through sweat and everything.
Cons:
  • None so far.
Price: $12.49 at Target

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation in Warm Golden

Even though I got the Photoready foundation, I really wanted to try the new whipped foundation too.  I like having a few different foundations to choose from depending on the coverage.

Pros:
  • Very light feel.  Creamy texture, and very easy to blend into the skin.
  • More of a matte finish than the Photoready.
  • Coverage can be light to heavy.  Very easy to build upon.
Cons:
  • I went through 4 different colors to find a shade that matched my skin tone.
  • They gave tiny swatches of the Nude shade, which I tried, and it looked like it matched, but I ended up having to go 3 shades darker.
  • I'm not a huge fan of the jar and lid.  I'd rather it came in a pump to avoid contamination.  But the jar makes it look expensive.
Price: $11.99 at Target

Hope you enjoyed my beauty haul and little reviews.  Let me know if you are interested in more information on any of these products and if you're going to try any! <3
